C-ville woman arrested, charged with theft of auto registration

From Campbellsville, KY Police Department

The Campbellsville Police Department investigated the registration and theft of a registration plate on a Campbellsville automobile on Monday, April 1, 2013.

Officer Ryan Jewell conducted an investigation of a vehicle with improper registration plates after a traffic stop for Failure to Wear a Seat Belt. The passenger of the vehicle exited and fled on foot. The driver also left the scene.

The vehicle was later located at a residence on McNairy Street. After further investigation, Officer Jewell determined through a computer registration search the vehicle bore a registration plate not belonging to the vehicle and that the registration plate was stolen from another vehicle.

Officer Jewell arrested Rachael Hoagland, age 34; 75 Mallory Lane; Campbellsville for several traffic related and criminal offenses. Hoagland was arrested and lodged in the Taylor County Jail for the following offenses; Theft of a Motor Vehicle Registration Plate; Fleeing or Evading Police First Degree; Failure to Wear a Seat Belt; No Registration Plates; No Registration Receipt; and Failure to maintain Vehicle Liability Insurance.

Hoagland was admitted to the Taylor County Jail.
