Columbia Police arrest three juveniles for series of break-ins Spree took place over 10 days in March, 2013. All items reported stolen have been recovered at this time. Police say evidence points to the three also being responsible for the theft of two trucks taken from the Adair County Road Department. Officer Johnny Dial is continuing the investigation. By Ofc. Joshua Brockman, Public Affairs Officer Columbia Police Department, City Hall, 116 Campbellsville Street, Columbia, KY On April 1, 2013, Columbia Police Department Officer Johnny Dial charged three Adair County juveniles in connection with a series of break-ins and thefts at these local establishments: Day and Day Feed Mill, Sign America, Hilltop Auto, Rex's Cycle Shop, and Columbia Masonic Lodge 96. The break-ins occurred between March 19, 2013 and March 29, 2013. Columbia Police officers also obtained evidence that the three juveniles were also responsible for the theft of two Adair County Road Department trucks and a break in at the Department of Transportation's State Garage. Evidence obtained in those cases will be turned over to the Adair County Sheriff's office and Kentucky State Police which are investigating those two incidents. The thefts, totaling over 15,000 dollars, ranged from firearms and clothing items to ATV's. All items reported missing have been recovered by CPD officers at this point. The juveniles were charged with Burglary 1st, Burglary 3rd , Theft By Unlawful Taking-(Firearm), Theft By Unlawful Taking(All Others), and Criminal Mischief. At approximately 3pmCT, Monday, April 1, 2013, the juveniles were lodged in the State's Juvenile Detention Center.
