Metcalfe County fatal collision on KY 90 Tweny-year-old Tompkinsville, KY driver pronounced dead at the scene by Metcalfe County, KY coroner in two car collision. Driver of other vehicle, from New Castle, IN, treated and released at Cumberland County Hospital in Burkesville, KY By TFC Billy Gregory, Public Affairs Officer Kentucky State Police Post 15, Columbia, KY EDMONTON, KY - Tpr. Logan Richardson is investigating a collision that occurred Sunday at 11:25amCT, 2 miles east of Willow Shade on KY 90. Twenty-year-old Melena Hughes Capps of Tompkinsville was traveling east on KY 90 when she lost control of her vehicle in a curve and slid into the path of a westbound 2003 Chevy pickup. The pickup was operated by 57-year-old James Spera of New Castle, IN. Capps was not wearing her seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle. She was later pronounced dead at the scene by the Metcalfe County Coroner. Spera was wearing a seatbelt but was transported to Cumberland County Hospital where he was treated and released.
