Adair Fire Dept. extricates driver after truck hits tree on W KY 80

Adair County Sheriff's Office Deputy BJ Bray investigates accident which occurs about 7 miles westof Columbia on Edmonton Road. Driver, Charles Loy, 37, was trapped in vehicle. After extrication he was taken by Adair EMS to meet an AirEvac helicopter for flight to a Louisville hospital

At around 8:30amCT, Wednesday, March 27, 2013, Charles Loy, 37 of Columbia, was operating a 1992 Dodge Pickup truck traveling East on Edmonton Road/KY 80, approximately 7 miles West of Columbia, KY, when his vehicle traveled off the roadway and over an embankment striking a tree.

Loy was trapped inside the vehicle. Adair County Fire Department responded to the scene and extricated Loy from the vehicle. Loy was transported by EMS from the scene and was met by AirEvac near Columbia Walmart. Loy was transported by Air Evac to a Louisville hospital for treatment.

Deputy BJ Bray with the Adair County Sheriff's Office is investigating the wreck. Units with the Adair County EMS, Adair County Fire and Adair County Search and Rescue were on the scene for over an hour.
