Injury collision Saturday, March 23, 2013 on Jamestown Street

On Saturday, March 23, 2013, at approximately 11:50amCT, Columbia Police Department was notified by Adair County 911 of a injury collision that had occurred on Jamestown Street in the limits of Columbia.

The collision occurred when Rhonda Shelton, age 56 of Columbia was traveling south on Jamestown Street operating a 2003 Buick failed to observe traffic had slowed or stopped. Shelton's vehicle struck a 1997 F-150 in the rear of vehicle. The F-150 was being operated by 54 year old Dale Spencer of Columbia.

Spencer's passenger, 48 year old Mary Spencer also of Columbia, KY, was treated on scene by Adair County EMS and transported to Westlake Regional Hospital for further treatment. Seatbelts was in use. The accident was investigated by CPD Det. Tracy McCarol who was assisted by CPD Ofc. Charlse Greer. - Ofc Josh Brockman. Chief of Police, Jason Cross.
