Lindsey Wilson Baseball rallies for a 6-5 win at No. 3 Lee

By Dan White

CLEVELAND, TN - Jeff Kerian ended a three-run eighth inning with a double to score the winning run for No. 12 Lindsey Wilson in a 6-5 win against No. 3 Lee (TN) on Tuesday at Olympic Field.

While recent times have been tough for the Blue Raiders, losing four straight, Tuesday's triumph gives them wins over Nos. 1, 3, 9, 14 and 18 in the NAIA Coaches' Poll this season.

Lindsey Wilson's matchup with Lee came down to two big innings. It started with the Blue Raiders taking a 3-0 lead in the fourth on a double by Manuel Ozoria to score a run and two more crossing the plate after a dropped fly ball.

Lee (20-6) responded in its half of the inning with four runs coming after giving up two outs. Jordan Stewart drove in the first of the runs with a third straight single and after the bases were loaded on a walk, Brandon Rader cleared the bases with a double.

Another run came home in the next inning for the home team after another double to give Lee a 5-3 lead.

Two scoreless frames went by before Lindsey Wilson (14-10) put together its winning string of hits in the eighth.

Leandro Perez started the comeback with a one-out double. After moving to third on a wild pitch, Perez scored on Manuel Alonso's sacrifice fly. Jeandro Andino pushed across the tying run with a single and Kerian finished Lee off with the eventual game-winning double. - Dan White
