Agnes Burton age 93 years of the Liberty Road, Columbia, KY, passed away Saturday, March 2, 2013 at 1:35amCT at the Westlake Regional Hospital in Columbia, KY. Funeral services will be Monday, March 4, 2013 at 1pmCT/2pmET, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home with Bro. Jamie Bryant the officiating clergy. Interment will be in Bearwallow Cemetery, 6132 Liberty Road, Columbia, KY. The family requests visitation after 4:30pmCT, Sunday, March 3, 2013.



Pallbearers: Bobby Mann, Jeremy Burton, Matt Hover, David Barnett, Tim Minnard and David Burton.

She was born Friday, October 17, 1919 in Adair County, KY the daughter of the late Felix and Effie Burton of Adair Co. KY. She died Saturday, March 2, 2013 in Columbia, Adair County, KY, at the age of 93 years, 4 months, and 16 days.

She was preceded in death by her husband: Lester Burton on October 28, 2006 by one son, Carlie Gene Burton in 1983 and a granddaughter in law Cathy Meyer Burton on March 30, 2009.

She is survived by the following:
  • One grandson: David Burton of Columbia, KY

  • Two granddaughters: Sandra (Timothy) Minnard of Russell Springs, KY; and Michelle Ray (Bobby) Mann of Columbia, KY

  • Daughter-in-law: Wilma Taylor Campbellsville, KY

  • One brother: Rollen Burton of Columbus, IN

  • One sister: Violet Redding of Columbus, IN

  • Fourteen great grandchildren
  • BR>
  • One great great grandchild

  • Several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends survive
She was a member of Purdy Separate Baptist Church and retired from United Technology in Edinburgh, IN
