Mary Lou Lester passed away Friday February 22, 2013 at her home in Liberty, Kentucky. She was 96 years old.

Funeral services are 2pmCT/3pmET, Sunday February 24, 2013 at the Liberty First Christian Church, 323 Middleburg Road, Liberty, KY, with Bro. Homer Hecht officiating. Burial is at Glenwood Cemetery. Visitation is Sunday, February 24, at the church from 12pm noon CT/1pmET, until funeral service.



Mary Lou Lester, Russell Co., KY (1916-2013)

She was born Thursday, June 8, 1916 in Mason City, Cerro Gordo County, Iowa. She was the daughter of the late Edson and Lucille Crawford Cornell. She died Friday, February 22, 2013, in Liberty, Casey County, KY.

She was a homemaker and an office receptionist. She was a member of the Liberty First Christian Church.

Mary Lee Lester was the widow of Dr. Woodrow Lester, DMD, who passed away June 13, 1994.

Survivors include the following:
  • Two sons: Denny C. ( and Fritzi) Lester of Lexington, KY; and William E. ( and Lucille) Lester of Liberty, KY

  • Four grandchildren

  • Seven great grandchildren
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and Jack Cornell and sister, Virginia Colson.

In lieu of flowers, donation may be given to the Liberty First Christian Church, Casey County Library or Hospice of Lake Cumberland. Funeral arrangements entrusted to McKinney-Brown Funeral Home, 752 Campbellsville Street, Liberty, KY, with guestbook available at McKinneyBrown.com.
