Great Backyard Bird Count starts today! Feb. 15-18, 2013
It's an enjoyable past-time, whether you're an ornithologist or just know a few birds. In the past, Columbia/Adair County (Zip Code 42728) has been the top bird watching community in the state, one of the top birdwatching communities in the nation. As always, we'll post information throughout the four day period to see how Columbia/Adair County is doing. We'll be posting more throughout the day, and hope that all who have participated in past GBBC's will do so this year, get others to participate. As always, new pictures are welcome for CM's Big Birds of Kentucky album. Send tips, stories, anecdotes, commentary, and new photos to ColumbiaMagazine.com. We'll do our best to post. -CM
Things You Can Do During the Countdown to the GBBC:
Just watch birds for at least 15 minutes at any location and tally the highest number of each bird species you see at any one time. Submit a new checklist for each day and each new location where you count.
