Power Outage Reported, 7:40amCT: Back on at approximately 9amCT UPDATED: 9:40amCT, Jerri Nixon in the Adair County Judge's Office said that the power is now back on. UPDATED: At 8:20amCT, power was lost for a large portion of Adair County. At this time, Emergency Management Director Greg Thomas has reported that the problem is likely due to an East Kentucky Power Company transmission line to TRECC and KU. However, the exact source of the problem has not been identified, and it's not known how long the outage may last. Judge Executive Ann Melton called and asked that no one call 911 unless it's a time-sensitive emergency. It's very important to keep the 911 lines open. For information about the outage, you can follow updates on ColumbiaMagazine.com, or use radio.
