Women's Basketball: LWC 52. Cumberland 64 Lindsey Wilson Women's Basketball Loses 64-52 at No. 6 Cumberland after Hot Start. Jasmine Brimm has 21, Ashley Rainey 20. News from Lindsey Wilson College LEBANON, TN - Lindsey Wilson led at halftime by one, but it cooled off in the second half and allowed No. 6 Cumberland (Lebanon, TN) to fight back for a 64-52 win on Saturday afternoon, February 9, 2013, at Dallas Floyd Gymnasium. The Blue Raiders got 21 points from Jasmine Brimm and 20 from Ashley Rainey, but the rest of the team combined for 11 points as it saw a 50 percent shooting percentage drop to 32 percent in the second half. Cumberland, led by Briannica Tye's 20 points, didn't shoot well in the game at 34.3 percent, but hit three more 3-pointers than the Blue Raiders and turned the ball over just six times, compared to 24 giveaways for Lindsey Wilson. The Blue Raiders did all they could to pull off the upset, including outrebounding the Bulldogs 42-36 and shooting 14-of-18 from the free-throw line, but too many mistakes with the basketball let Cumberland hold on. With the win, the Bulldogs are 24-1 overall and 15-1 in the Mid-South Conference, while Lindsey Wilson drops to 15-10 and 6-9 in league play. The Blue Raiders led by 10 nine minutes into the first half as they hit a pair of threes and 10 free throws in the first frame. Cumberland eventually turned the tables with its largest lead of 14 10 minutes into the second half. The Bulldogs bench played a large role in the turnaround, outscoring the Blue Raiders 17-4. - Lindsey Wilson College This story was posted on 2013-02-09 19:32:28
