Lindsey Wilson's Rainey garners MSC Award for 12th time

She's now LWC women's basketball program's all-time leader in blocked shots

COLUMBIA, KY - Lindsey Wilson senior Ashley Rainey is the Mid-South Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week, conference officials announced on Monday, February 4. 2013.

The weekly MSC honor is the third of the season for Rainey and 12th of her career. Rainey produced her conference-leading 16th and 17th double-doubles of the season as the Blue Raiders split a pair of home MSC games last week.

The Bowling Green, KY, native scored a season-high 35 points and added 15 rebounds in Lindsey Wilson's 80-68 win over Rio Grande (Rio Grande, OH) on Thursday. On Saturday, Rainey poured in 26 points and grabbed 17 rebounds in the Blue Raiders' 62-54 loss to No. 22 Shawnee State (Portsmouth, OH).

Rainey became the program's all-time leader in blocked shots during the Saturday contest. Her two blocks pushed her career total to 87.
