Also playing: Marshall Shelley, Tanner Pooler, Jacob Pooler, and Colton Back Next: JV/Varsity Boys Basketball at Central Hardin, Cecilia, KY Special to ColumbiaMagazine.com Sports News of Adair County High School Athletics The Adair County Indians fell to 15-9 on the year with a 55-45 loss to Campbellsville (9-13) Friday night, February 1, 2013, at the John Burr Memorial Gym, 526 Indian Drive, Columbia, KY. The loss means that the Indians will be the number two seed and will face Marion County in the first round of the district tournament. Taylor secured the number 1 seed with a 49-40 win at Marion County. Despite the win over Adair County, the Eagles remain the fourth seed. Adair led 13-9 after the first period but a 17-8 second period run led to a Campbellsville lead 26-21 at halftime. The Eagles increased their lead to 41-31 after three periods. The Indians tried to rally in the final period but clutch free throw shooting (8-10) by the Eagles helped secure the win. Campbellsville connected on 19-36 from the field and 17-25 from the free throw line while missing both of their three point attempts. Adair connected on only 17-46 from the field, 4 of 9 from the line, and 7 of 24 from the three point line. The Eagles won the battle of the boards 31-23. The Indians scoring was as follows: Matt Fudge14, Kel Stotts 8, Chance Melton 7, Zach Hutchison 6, Jake Hixson 4, Ty Bennett 3, and Jayden Willis 3. Also seeing action were Marshall Shelley, Tanner Pooler, Jacob Pooler, and Colton Back. Melton led the Indians with eight rebounds.
