Boys HS Basketball: Adair County, 66. Whitefield Academy, 43
Special to ColumbiaMagazine.com The Adair County Indians improved their record to 15-7 with a 66-43 victory over Whitefield Academy Saturday night, January 26, 2013, at the John Burr Memorial Gym at Adair County High School. The Indians connected on 24 of 40 field goal tries, 7 of 14 from the three point line, and 11 of 12 from the charity stripe. The Wildcats connected on 17 of 43 from the field, 4 of 14 three's, and 5 of 9 from the line. Adair out rebounded their opponents 27-18. Adair led 12-10 after the first period, 30-22 at halftime, 48-33 after three periods, and pulled away to a 66-43 final. The Indians had three players in double figures. Kel Stotts 14, Chance Melton 13, and Matt Fudge 10. Rounding out the scoring were Jayden Willis 8, Colton Back 7, Marshall Shelley 5, Jake Hixson 5, Zach Hutchison 2, and Jacob Pooler 2. Also seeing action were Ty Bennett, Tanner Pooler, Gabriel Alfaro, Aaran Taylor, Kyle Burton, and Trevor Willis. Melton and Shelley had five rebounds while Hixson had four rebounds. Fudge and Stotts dished out four assists each. Next: Adair Co.
