George Rice Comments on drivers - the majority are good ones

He commends local drivers; rightfully so (for majority). He suggests street light at Burkesville Street/Road & Bypass

George Rice writes:
I'm somewhat like Joe Hare about the bad drivers in Columbia and Adair County. I'm the littlest man on the totem pole but I didn't know that we had a driving problem with the drivers or the law enforcement. I really thought our town had very courteous drivers. Almost daily while going through town I see drivers slowing or stopping to let someone in or out of a traffic situation. As for the stop lights, I would suggest to lay the phone down and watch those lights. They are designed for our safety.

As for a suggestion, I sure would like to see a street light at the intersection of Hwy. 61/80 and the by-pass. I find it very difficulty to see the road lines at night when turning left off 61/80 onto the by-pass north. George Rice - George Rice
George Rice - Agreed that on balance Adair County has an overwhelming majority of the most courteous drivers in the world. It's the outlyers, the small Idiot Class and the Bully Drivers - tailgaters, intersection blockers, speeders, the disturbers of the peace, including the engine gunners, the jake-brakers in town, the through semi's who won't use the bypass, the minority of motorcyclists who purposely rev engines (even Harley-Davidson's President has asked riders of his machines to ride respectfully, and, when they do, most absolutely love to see their bikes), and all the misfits who drive threateningly, who need special education. Those who love Downtown Columbia, live here, walk here, bike here, buy here, bank here, do business here, pay taxes (boy do they pay taxes - inequitably, too, for what they get!) deserve not to be, Still Sleepless in Columbia, KY at 1:17amCT - a loud semi on Jamestown Street awoke me - and I'm making the most of it, working. - ED WAGGENER
