He was a Casey County, KY native and a resident of Adair County, KY at the time of his death. He is survived by his beloved wife, Bonnie Mae Pendleton Meeks. He was retired from Tarter's Lumber Industry and was a member of the Athens Church of Christ.

Roy Lee Meeks passed away Sunday January 20, 2013 at his is home in Adair County, KY. He was 76.

Funeral services are 12pm noon CT/1pmET, Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home, 752 Campbellsville Street, Liberty, KY, with Bro. J.D. McDonald and Bro. Kenny Spaw officiating . Burial is at Old Antioch Cemetery. Visitation is Tuesday, January 22, 5pm-8pmCT/6pm-9pmET.

He was born Friday, December 18, 1936, in Casey County, KY. He was the son of the late Robert C. and Delta Sallee Meeks. He died Sunday, January 20, 2013, in Adair County, KY, at the age of 76 years, 1 month, and two days.

He was retired from Tarter's Lumber Industry and was a member of the Athens Church of Christ. Survivors include his beloved wife, Bonnie Mae Pendleton Meeks, and the following:
  • Four brothers: Ed (and Beverly) Meeks of Dunnville, KY; David (and Janett) Meeks of Dunnville, KY; Stanley (and Jewell) Meeks of Liberty, KY; and Marvin Meeks of Dunnville, KY

  • Special nephew: Shawn (and Sovanna) Pendleton of Columbia, KY

  • Two special great nieces: Kaylie Marie and Kylie Ann Pendleton

  • A host of other family survives.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by brothers, Hershel and Ernest Meeks and sister, Matrie Pendleton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to McKinney-Brown Funeral Home to help offset funeral expenses.
