Woody's bear mystery perturbs big part of Greater Bliss, KY That Big Part being Miz Victoria, all by herself. Across the city limits, over in the The Flatwoods, Miss Jan seems to be pretty nearly inconsolable. Usual suspect roundup list includes Little Oscar and the ogre, Bud Mullins. Bud Mullins' biography has been updated by Nancy Moran Fouser. Click on headline for complete news letter By Vicky Pike Chief Correspondent from Greater Bliss, KY "Where Bears and Bull are taken more seriously than on Wall Street" A bear is missing It has been brought to my attention this week that Woody's bear fell out of the tree in the last of the heavy rains and was washed away by the high waters of Petty's Fork, just south of my place. It was confirmed by Miss Jan that she is missing her bear terribly. If anyone sees a slightly ruffled bear with a bad case of the mange, please let me know so we can return it to its proper tree on the main drag in The Flatwoods community. Just hope that the Feese's pot bellied pig, Little Oscar, hasn't had him for dinner. And then again, Ole Bud Mullins could have taken him off to live in the bluff nearby. I have had an update on the Bud Mullins tale from my childhood. In talking with Nancy Moran Fouser, I have learned that Bud first lived in the bluff across from her parents' Maurice and Callie Moran's home on Burkesville Road. This is the approximate location of where Woody's bear came up missing. - Victoria Pike Comments re article 57026 Anonymous the Iconclast Bear no bear nor bar neither This story was posted on 2013-01-19 11:40:56
