News of Adair County High School athletics from CM correspondent

The Adair County Indians battled back from a 29-23 halftime deficit and came away with a 68-55 victory over the Nelson County Cardinals. The win improved the Indians record to 13-6 going into today's game.

Chance Melton scored ten of his 14 points in the second period to help keep the game close. Ty Bennett and Kel Stotts got the hot hand in the second half. Bennett scored 17 of his team high 20 points including five treys in the second half while Stotts scored 14 of his 17 in the second half including nine of 12 from the charity stripe. The Indians out scored the Cardinals 45-26 in the second half.

Scoring for the Indians was as follows Bennett 20, Stotts 17, Melton 14, Marshall Shelley 8, Jayden Willis 4, Jacob Pooler 3, Tanner Pooler 2. Melton pulled down five rebounds while Shelley came away with four rebounds. Zach Hutchison and Matt Fudge dished out five assists each.
