Two dead in Washington County Shooting Deputies, Troopers assigned to Kentucky State Police Post 15, Columbia, KY, and Members of KSP Special Response Team (S.R.T) responded to report of threatened suicide. On entry, they found two dead. Location is in northernmost county, Washington, of Post 15 area. Springfield, the county seat, is approximately 1 hour/47 miles north of Post 15; the site of the shooting, approximately 12 miles beyond. By TFC Wm. Gregory, Public Affairs Officer Kentucky State Police Post 15, Columbia, KY SPRINGFIELD, KY - (Received 2013-01-14, 3:17amCT) On Sunday, January 13 Post 15 received a call from the Washington County Dispatch in reference to a possible shooting. At approximately 10:16pmET, Springfield Police Department's 911 received a call in reference to a man threatening suicide at a residence on Brushgrove Road, 12 miles north of Springfield. As deputies were en route to the residence a second call was received at approximately 10:28pmET; the caller advised that someone had been shot in the residence and that two others had left and made it to a neighbor's home. Deputies, Troopers and members of the Kentucky State Police Special Response Team (S.R.T.) responded to the scene. At approximately 3:39amET this morning the SRT entered the residence and found one male and one female deceased and secured the residence. Investigators are still on the scene at this time Names will be released following confirmation of identity and death notification to families. - TFC WM.
