Garden Club meeting will be on 4-season vegetable gardening

Although the calendar tells us it's still technically winter now is the time to prepare for spring vegetable gardening. - BA

Wendy Butler Burt with the Adair County Garden Club will be hosting a round table discussion about 4-season vegetable gardening in Kentucky at 1pmCT/2pmET, Thursday January 24, 2013 at the Adair County Extension Services Office, 409 Fairground Street, Columbia, KY.

Topics include planning the garden, ordering seeds, seed starting, preparing the beds (raised beds, permanent beds, traditional rows), when to plant different crops, buying transplants, mulching, weeding/cultivating, rotational planting, seed saving, extending the season, etc.

Please bring a list of your favorite varieties of different vegetables and your favorite catalogues. Everyone is invited to attend this free class. For information on the Adair County Garden Club contact Barbara Armitage 270-250-2979. - BARBARA ARMITAGE
