The Weather for Today

For Continuously updated weather, click to National Weather Service for Columbia, KY The NWS issued this update on 13 Jan 2013, at 03:15amCT/03:15amET : OVERNIGHT: A 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 4am. Some of the storms could produce heavy rainfall. Cloudy, with a low around 62. South wind around 16 mph, with gusts as high as 28 mph. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms. : A chance of showers and thunderstorms before noon, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm between noon and 5pm, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 5pm. Cloudy, with a high near 70. South wind 8 to 13 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms. SUNDAY: Showers and possibly a thunderstorm before 11am, then showers between 11am and noon, then rain after noon. Some of the storms could produce heavy rainfall. Temperature rising to near 64 by 9am, then falling to around 42 during the remainder of the day. South wind 9 to 16 mph becoming northwest in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 24 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New rainfall amounts between 1 and 2 inches possible. SUNDAY NIGHT: Rain and snow before 11pm, then a chance of snow between 11pm and midnight. Low around 30. Northwest wind 7 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible. Hazardous Weather Outlook issued at 9:39pmCT/10:39pmET Saturday Jan 12, 2013: "A PERIOD OF MODERATE TO HEAVY RAINFALL IS LIKELY VERY LATE TONIGHT INTO EARLY SUNDAY AS A SLOW MOVING COLD FRONT APPROACHES THE OHIO VALLEY. ESTIMATED RAINFALL AMOUNTS LOOK TO BE LESS THAN 1 INCH BEFORE SUNRISE."
