For Continuously updated weather, click to National Weather Service for Columbia, KY The NWS issued this update on 12 Jan 2013, at 03:55amCT/04:55amET : SATURDAY: A chance of showers and thunderstorms before noon, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm between noon and 5pm, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 5pm. Cloudy, with a high near 70. South wind 8 to 13 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms. SATURDAY NIGHT: A chance of showers and thunderstorms, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after 5am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 60. South wind 11 to 17 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms. Hazardous Weather Outlook issued 2:55amCT/3:55amET Saturday Jan 12, 2013: "A PERIOD OF MODERATE TO HEAVY RAINFALL IS LIKELY TODAY INTO EARLY SUNDAY AS A SLOW MOVING COLD FRONT CROSSES THE OHIO VALLEY. ESTIMATED RAINFALL AMOUNTS LOOK TO BE BETWEEN 2 AND 3 INCHES ACROSS SOUTHERN INDIANA...WITH 1 TO 2 INCHES ELSEWHERE. RISES ON LOCAL RIVERS ARE ANTICIPATED WITH THE BEST CHANCE FOR MINOR FLOODING IN SOUTHERN INDIANA AND ON THE SALT AND GREEN RIVERS.:
