Salvation Army Service Unit expresses thanks The Salvation Army appreciation luncheon to honor volunteers will be held at 11amCT/12pm noon ET, Tuesday, February 5, 2013 in the basement of the Adair County Courthouse Annex, 424 Public Public Square in Columbia, KY. - Debbie Cowan By Debbie Cowan The Salvation Army Service Unit of Adair County would like to extend a huge thank you to the community for the continued support of Christmas assistance programs in Adair County. Because of your generosity, The Salvation Army was able to provide Christmas gifts to over three hundred Adair County children through the Angel Tree Program. The Senior Angel Program assisted fifty elderly Adair County residents and the Red Kettle Campaign had a record year for donations. We appreciate all who purchased gifts, made donations and assisted in other ways to make Christmas more joyful for deserving individuals in this community. We genuinely appreciate Wal-Mart and IGA for allowing the Red Kettles and bell ringers at their locations. Thank you to the many folks that braved the weather to ring the bell and collect money for The Salvation Army. All interested persons are invited to join our local service unit. Meetings are held the first Tuesday of each month at 9amCT/10amET, in the basement of the Adair County Courthouse Annex, 424 Public Public Square in Columbia. An appreciation luncheon will be held on February 5, 2013, at 11amCT/12pm noon ET, the Annex basement to honor all volunteers. Any person that assisted with the Salvation Army in any way this year is encouraged to attend this luncheon. - Debbie Cowan This story was posted on 2013-01-08 12:39:29
