Estate of Wendell Gleason Pyles sues Tarter group of companies, Dunnville, KY Criminal defendants in the case also named in civil action Attorney Derrick G. Helm of the law firm Bertram and Wilson, Jamestown, KY, filed a civil suit, today, January 8, 2013, in Casey Circuit Court 29th Judicial Circuit, Liberty, KY. The complaint is on behalf of Tina Pyles, personally and as administratrix of the estate of Wendell G. Pyles. Defendants include Tarter Gate Company, LLC; Tarter Management Company, LLC; Tarter Brothers, LLC, Tarter Logistics, LLC; Tarter Gate Wood Products, LLC; Tarter Tube, LLC; Liberty Tank, LLC, Dunnville Logging Co., Inc; Rocky Run Outdoors, LLC; Casey Green, LLC; Tarter Farm & Ranch, LLC all of Dunnville, KY; and Individuals: William R. Rigdon, Liberty, KY; David Salyers, Liberty, KY; and Anthony Lee Byrd, Dunnville, KY. The case grows out of the death of Wendell G. Pyles on or about September 26, 2012, while he was an employee of Tarter Gate in Dunnville, KY. The suit alleges that Salyers and Rigdon "consipired and did murder the decedent at his job, and that defendant Anthony Byrd, an employee of Tarter Gate, was the direct supervisor of Wendell Pyles and informed Salyers and Rigdon of his exact whereabouts, alleging that action allow the pair to murder the decedent. The suit alleges Tarter Gate is vicariously liable for the acts of Byrd because he was an employee of Tarter Gate.
