Grethan Wethington, age 89, of Columbia, KY, passed away on Saturday December 22nd, 2012, at Casey County Hospital, Liberty, KY.

Funeral Services will be held at 10amCT/11amET, Thursday December 27, 2012 at Bartle Funeral Home Chapel, 142 KY 49 Hwy, Liberty, KY, Father Patrick Dolan officiating. Burial will be in the St. Bernard Catholic Cemetery, Clementsville, KY. Visitation will be held after 4pmCT/5pmET. Wednesday December 26, 2012 at Bartle Funeral Home Chapel, Liberty, KY.


Grethan Wethington, 89, Columbia, KY (1923-2012)


Grethan Wethington was born in Clementsville, Casey County, KY on February 17, 1923, a daughter of the late Thomas and Della Campbell Clements. She, passed away on Saturday December 22, 2012, in Liberty, Casey County, KY, at the age of 89 years, 10 months, and 5 days.

She was the widow of Lucian Wethington. Survivors include the following:
  • One son: Dallon Wethington of Columbia, KY

  • Two daughters: Alta Jean Hunt and Phyllis Kay Wethington, both of Columbia, KY

  • Four grandchildren

  • Nine great grandchildren

  • Two great great grandchildren

  • And one brother: Jerome Clements of Liberty, KY.

She was preceded in death by two daughters, Sharon Lee Herron and Mary Connie Wethington; two sons, James Lannie Wethington and Raymond Thomas Wethington; daughter in law, Kathryn Lee Wethington; grandson, Robert Kendall Wethington; great granddaughter, Jessica Lynn Thomas; sisters, Susie, Minnie and Pearl Clements; and brothers, Clarence, Marvin and John Clements.
