Adair County receives $1.5 million WRH loan repayment

By Ed Waggener

Adair County Judge Executive Ann Melton received a check for $1,500,000 from Westlake Regional Hospital on Friday, November 30, 2012. The money was deposited in an interest-bearing Adair County General Fund Account, pending Adair Fiscal Court approval on application of the funds. That approval is expected to come no later than the January 2013 meeting of Fiscal Court.

Westlake Regional Hospital was able to make the payment after receiving "meaningful use" money for implementiing electronic record keeping.

Judge Melton said that she plans, at present, to ask the court's approval to apply the money to pay off, in full, a local bank loan rather than putting it toward retiring a $1.7 million bond issue, as originally planned.
