Thurman Long, Jr, Casey County, KY (1942-2012)

He was a native of Ohio and a resident of Casey County, KY at the time of his death. He was a self-employed truck driver. He was a member of a large, respected family. He leaves 26 direct living descendants and 4 step living descendants.

Thurman Long, Jr. passed away Friday November 23, 2012 at his home in Casey County. He was 69.

Funeral services are at 1pmET/12pm noon CT, Sunday November 25, 2012 at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home. 752 Campbellsville Street, Liberty, KY, with Bro. Don Clark officiating. Burial will be at Salem Cemetery. Visitation is 9:30amET/8:30amCT, Sunday, until funeral services.


Thurman Long, Jr, Casey County, KY (1942-2012)

He was born December 6, 1942 in Hamilton, Butler County, Ohio. He was the son of the late Riley and Dora Noe Long. He died Friday, November 23, 2012, in Casey County, KY, at the age of 69 years, 11 months, and 13 days.

He was a self-employed truck driver.

Survivors include his wife, Alene Neat Long of Liberty, KY, and the following:
  • Two sons, Junior Wayne Long of Junction City, KY; and George Long of Russell Springs, KY

  • Three daughters: Patricia Durham of Lexington, KY; Genita Long of Russell Springs, KY and Pam Beene of Chicago, IL

  • Four step-sons, Danny Lawhorn of Somerset, KY; Doug Lawhorn of Nancy, KY; and Steve Lawhorn and Lee Maynard both of Liberty, KY

  • Fourteen grandchildren

  • Seven great grandchildren

  • And brother: Larry Long of Versailles, KY
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a daughter, Marlene Long ; a grandchild; brothers, J.C. Long and Denver Dillingham; and sisters, Betty Harris and Mary Lee Wilson. In lieu of flowers, donation may be given to the funeral home to help offset funeral expenses.
