Kenneth Parsley wins Top Prize with New Zealand white buck Bragging rights for ACES. Winner is a Fifth Grader at the school, and is an experienced exhibitor not only in Kentucky, but many other states. Click on headline for complete story with photo(s) By Linda Parsley Our son Kenneth Parsley, a 5th grade student at Adair County Elementary School (ACES) won Youth Best in Show with his Sr. New Zealand white buck at the Western KY Rabbit Breeders Association rabbit show in Hopkinsville, KY on Saturday, November 17, 2012. Kenneth is pictured in the accompanying photo with ARBA (American Rabbit Breeders Association) judge Stacey Easton Martin from OH. This is Kenneth's 2nd Best in Show win with this same rabbit. His first win was at the Wilson County Fair in Lebanon, TN on August 18, 2012. Kenneth competes and travels all over the midwest and southern states with his show rabbits. Kenneth is a 5th grade student from ACES. If there are other kids out there who would like to get involved with the smaller farm animals, rabbits are a good option, especially if they do not have the room for horses, cattle, etc. At the recent ARBA national convention in Wichita, KS last month, there were 22,000 rabbits entered for competition. The youth have a chance to win scholarships from ARBA, but they can also win scholarships from 4H programs, if they are involved. - Linda Parsley This story was posted on 2012-11-19 07:23:17
