Stoner Creek UMC takes responsibility for Acton Retreat

Small Taylor County congregation accepts challenge for managing the historic campgrounds - and they need help! Paint and painting supplies urgently needed for work day on Thursday, November 8, 2012
Send memories, too

By Gloria Anderson

My name is Glora Anderson. I am a member of Stoner Creek United Methodist, a small church near the Acton Retreat, 6440 Liberty Road, (Acton, Taylor Co.) Campbellsville, KY.

We were offered and we accepted the responsibility of the Retreat. We are trying to get some things updated and freshened, and busy!

As I said we are a small church and this is a big challenge.

Some of us will be at Acton Retreat tomorrow (Thursday) doing some cleaning. We will be accepting donations of good paint and painting supplies to help in our face lift of the buildings.

I know many of your readers are familiar with the Acton Retreat and might want to donate good paints they have in the garage or basement, or might know someone else who would like to.

They could drop them off between 10am- 6pmET/9am-5pmCT. We would love to hear all the memories they have too. I am sure there are some good ones. - Glora Anderson
