Big Test Sunday, November 4, 2012, when Blue Raiders face NCAA No. 21 nationally Purdue in West Lafayette, IN By Dan White News from Lindsey Wilson College COLUMBIA, KY - An eight-point halftime lead swelled to 22 by the end of the game as the 17th-ranked Lindsey Wilson College women's basketball team overcame a slow start to beat Miami-Middletown (Ohio) 85-63 on Saturday morning at Biggers Sports Center. Ashley Rainey led all scorers with 24 points for the Blue Raiders, while Jasmine Brimm added 22 points and five assists, knocking down 4-of-7 three-point tries. The ThunderHawks got 18 points and nine rebounds from Brianne Thornton and Lisa Weber chipped in with 15 points and five board, shooting 5-for-10 from the field. Rainey finished off her double-double for Lindsey Wilson with a game-high 12 rebounds. While the Blue Raiders led by as many as 28 points in the game, it was Miami-Middletown enjoying a six-point advantage with about eight minutes left in the first half. The ThunderHawks Shooting woes from the field kept Miami-Middletown from staying in the game. While the Blue Raiders shot just 43.8 percent from the field for the game, the ThunderHawks were miserable at times, hitting at a 28.6 percent clip in the second half. In the end Rainey was just too much to handle inside for the small ThunderHawks. Without a player over 5-9, Rainey took advantage, helping Lindsey Wilson tally a 42-16 points in the pain advantage.
