Update on Big Springs, Hardin Co., KY, shooting KSP Post 4, Elizabethtown, sends description of armed robbery suspect, still at large: Earlier: Convenient Store in Hardin County robbed, employee is shot By MTPR Norman Chaffins, Public Affairs Officer Kentucky State Police Post 4, Elizabethtown, KY The following information is an update in yesterday's shooting in the Big Springs community. At around 7:50amET a white male entered Carolyn's Corner, which is on the Meade County side of KY 220. He stated that he had a gun and demanded money and the car keys from the female employee. There was a physical altercation between the two. The suspect forced the female employee into the parking lot, entered her car and demanded her keys. The female employee led the suspect to another employees residence very nearby whom she knew had firearms in his house. When the male employee answered the door the suspect rushed into the residence. The employee produced a firearm and a struggle ensued. During the struggle the male employee was shot once in the arm. The suspect took the victim's gun and fled the scene. The suspect then went to another residence nearby and robbed an elderly man of his car keys at gun point. That man's car was stolen out of his driveway. The suspect is described as a white male, early to mid 20's, thin build, clean shaven and last seen wearing a black jacket, blue jeans, boots, and a gray toboggan. Video from the store is being viewed and may be released once it is processed. Once again, anyone with information about this crime is asked to call KSP Post 4 at 270-766-5078. - MTPR Norman Chaffins This story was posted on 2012-10-29 02:25:40
