The ACHS Boy's High School Golf Team competed in the State Tournament this past weekend at Bowling Green Country Club, 251 Beech Bend Road, Bowling Green, KY.

The tournament was comprised of the 24 Regional winners and Runners-Upfrom across the State. The tournament format placed all 24 teams in play on Friday and only the top 12 teams in the State earned the right to play the next day for a State Title.

The Indians first round of score of 321 put them in 9th place overall and earned them the right to compete on Saturday.

This was the first time in school history that an Adair County Boy's Golf Team had ever got to compete on the 2nd day for a state title. The Indians score of 334 was good enough to place them 10th overall. Riley Grant was the top Individual Performer with rounds of 80 and 77 which was good enough to capture T28 overall. That is the highest that any Adair County Individual Golfer has ever placed in the State Tournament.

Coach's critique: I am so proud of these young men. They are an awesome bunch of young men and golfers. They have worked so hard all year and it is very satisfying to see their hard work pay off. To earn the right to say we are the 10th best High School Golf Team in the State is very rewarding. These boys have accomplished something no other golfers in Adair County History have done and that is a good feeling to be able to hang your hat on. Individually, Riley had the highest finish of any Adair County Golfer has ever had as well. Words can't describe how proud I am of them. -Coach Steve Burton
