Kentucky Breast Care offers the first 3D Mammograms in rural KY Russell County gets a rural health care 1st with Kentucky Breast Care. Russell Springs office is just third center in the state to offer 3-D Mammography. Center has all female staff, provides same day results, and offers advanced 3-D service at a price often lower than a conventional mammogram. Click on headline for full story with photo(s) By Dr. Eric Woodroof, PhD There are only 3 places in KY where you can get a 3D mammogram. One is in Lexington, one is in Louisville, and the other one is located in Russell Springs, KY. Kentucky Breast Care, 38 Joe T. Petty Drive, is located in the Russell County Hospital complex in Russell Springs. The new center has just opened its doors. The center is starting out with the very latest technology. The Russell Springs facility was created to be "spa-like," and has an all-women staff to make the screening process as comfortable as possible. Besides offering up to date technology, the Russell Spring facility has the only full-year fellowship trained breast radiologist in Southern KY, Dr. Andrea Woodroof. Dr. Woodroof is well aware of rising medical costs, and offers the 3-D service at a lower cost than many two-dimensional mammograms. In most cases, patients get results the same day. Dr. Woodroof says this is done to reduce anxiety associated with long waits for outcomes in so many radiology centers. The main goal, however, is saving and improving lives of women. “3D mammogram technology saves lives because it shows us cancers that traditional mammograms can miss. When a breast cancer goes undetected, it grows and metastasizes - making it really hard to cure." Finding breast cancer at earlier stages using 3D technology translates into more patients beating this disease, Dr. Woodroof believes. "At Kentucky Breast Care," she said, "We help women lead healthy lives by using cutting-edge technology, performing 3D mammograms at a 2D mammogram cost, and providing a comfortable, less anxiety-provoking experience.” The Kentucky Breast Care is located at 38 Joe T. Petty Drive, Russell Springs, KY. The phone number is 606-425-3355. Note: Edited for spelling and content on 2012-10-24 --PW This story was posted on 2012-10-07 12:29:09
