News from Adair County High School fine arts

A theatrical experience nothing short of out of this world awaited Adair County High School art students Tuesday, September 25, 2012, at the new Southern Kentucky Performing Arts Center in Bowling Green, KY.

The Intergalactic Nemesis Live-Action Graphic Novel was a one-of-a-kind theatrical experience that mashed up radio drama with comic-books.

Three actors voiced dozens of characters; one Foley artist created hundreds of sound effects; one keyboardist performed a score of thousands (yes, thousands!) of notes; while on a two-story high screen was projected more than 1,250 individual, full-color, hand-drawn, hi-resolution, blow-your-mind comic book images that told the story visually.

After the production, the author and cast of The Intergalactic Nemesis took time to talk, sign autographs and pose for pictures with the students, including Michiah Baxter, David Brown, Chris Burks, Zack Caldwell, Carrissa Carter, Ashley Daniel, Chad Davis, Haley Diamond, Jayce Grant, Courtney Green, Sam Kern, Destiny Mardis, Rebecca Montgomery, Anna Parson, Collin Pendleton, Farrah Phillips, Travis Richardson, Abby Rowe, Tyler Rowe, Bailey Shepperd, Noah Thomas, Kiernan Ussery, Maria Valadez, Tim Watsson, Kayla Wood, Miranda Wright and Destiny Wright, and art teacher Debra Wimmer and sponsor April Shepperd and husband Guy Shepperd.
