Hazardous Weather Outlook issued at 3:40amET, Friday, September 28, 2012: "SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS ARE EXPECTED TODAY...ESPECIALLY SOUTH OF INTERSTATE 64 AND EAST OF INTERSTATE 65. THE MAIN THREATS FROM THESE STORMS WILL BE LIGHTNING AND BRIEF HEAVY RAIN. .."
The National Weather Service in Louisville, KY, has issued the following forecast for Columbia, KY. This forecast from update at 2:55amCT, September 28, 2012
Overnight - Scattered showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 63. Calm wind. Chance of precipitation is 50%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Friday - Scattered showers and thunderstorms before 9am, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm between 9am and 2pm, then scattered showers and thunderstorms after 2pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 73. Calm wind becoming west around 5 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Friday night - A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 10pm. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 57. Calm wind.
