Dave Burton: Senate and/or House is at fault for mess

Agrees with Eric Goodin

By Dave Burton
Personal Opinion

Fully agree with Mr. Goodin's comments. Too often we blame the president for many issues, to include the current state of our country, when in fact, as Eric points out, the Senate and/or House, is actually at fault. I've read a plethora of middle-to-back page news articles of dishonesty and corruption in these areas in our government, i.e., accepting under the table pay-offs or bribes from greedy corporate CEOs to keep the war machine turning (defense contractor's cash-cow), or to keep their business running at some 3rd-world country because of the huge profits they make off of cheap labor.

Notice how quickly the president's public announcement of forcing companies to bring the jobs back to America was knocked off the scope? A "few" companies did so, but the majority choose to stick with lining their own pockets rather than investing in America as a whole. Congress has way too much power and are no longer public servants. Too many laws or other processes are being changed or instated without the American people having a say. What's happened to our democracy? The government sends billions of American taxpayers' money to other countries - the majority of whom hate America - yet we have jobless, homeless, and sick Americans that could be helped instead. What's wrong with this picture? - Dave Burton
