Amelia Meyer, 99, Russell County, KY (1913-2012)

She was a native of Jefferson County, KY, and the matriarch of a large, respected Russell County, KY family. She leaves eight direct living descendants, and four step descendants. She was a homemaker and a member of the Southside Baptist CHurch in Louisville, KY

Amelia Meyer, 99, E. Hwy 80, Russell Springs, KY, died Monday, September 17, 2012, at 10pmCT, at Fairoaks Nursing Home, Jamestown, KY.

Funeral services will be at Wilson Funeral Home, 391 East Steve Wariner Drive, Russell Springs, KY, at 12pm noon CT, Thursday, September 20, 2012, with Bro. Rick Neff officiating. Visitation will be after 10pmCT, Thursday, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Hickory Grove Cemetery, Sellersburg, IN.



Amelia Meyer, 99, Russell County, KY (1913-2012)


Amelia Meyer was the daughter of the late Charles Harmon and the late Alice Money Harmon. She was born in Louisville, Jefferson County, KY, May 25, 2012. She died Monday, September 17, 2012, in Jamestown, Russell County, KY, at the age of 99 years, 4 months, and 15 days.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Southside Baptist Church, Louisville, KY.

She is survived by the following:
  • Her daughter: Joyce Bottom, Russell Springs, KY

  • A son: Sylvester A Meyer (Kaye) of Scottsburg, IN

  • Three grandchildren

  • Two step grandchildren

  • Three great grandchildren

  • Two step great grandchildren
She was preceded in death by her husband, Sylveter A (Tony) Meyer; one brother, Edward Harmon; two sisters, Charline Mackison and Georgia Jackson; and one grandson, David Scott Wilson.

The family requests memorials be donations to Southside Baptist CHurch, 804 Camden Lane, Louisville, KY 49215.

Wilson Funeral Home, 391 East Steve Wariner Drive, Russell Springs, KY in charge of arrangements.
