He was a member of a respected Metcalfe County family, a member of the House of Prayer Church in Edmonton, and a United States Army Veteran

Donald Ray Childress, age 60 of Center, KY,m died Friday September 7, 2012 at T.J. Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow, KY.

Funeral services will be held 1pmCT, Wednesday, September 12, 2012, at Butler Funeral Home, 201 East Street, Edmonton, KY, with burial in the Whickerville Cemetery. Visitation will be 4pm-8pmCT, Tuesday, September 11, 2012, and after 9amCT, Wednesday at the funeral home.



He was the son of the late Raymond and Helen Rose Bryant Childress.

He was an US Army veteran and member of the House of Prayer Church in Edmonton, KY. He is survived by his wife Lisa Faye Childress of Center, KY, and the following:
  • Three brothers: Rondal and wife Jean Childress of Radcliff, KY; Frankie Childress of Texas; and Tony Zembella of Virginia

  • Several nieces, nephews and cousins
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a sister Pamela Young.

Butler Funeral Home, 201 East Street, Edmonton, KY, in charge of funeral arrangements.
