Lavinia Coffey, 95, of Columbia, died Sunday, September 2, 2012 at 8:28pmCT, at Summit Manor Health and Rehab, Columbia, KY.

Funeral services will be Monday, September 10, 2012 at 12pm noon CT/11amET, at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville Street, Columbia, KY, with Dean Roach and Michael Coffey officiating. Burial will be in Campbellsville Memorial Gardens, 3878 Greensburg Road, Campbellsville, KY. Visitation after 9amCT/10amET, Monday at the funeral home.



Casket bearers: David Coffey, Michael Coffey, Keith Simpson, Matt Maudlin, Terry Simpson and Larry Coffey.

Lavinia Coffey, 95, Adair Co., KY (1917-2012)


She was born Friday, June 22, 1917 in Green County, KY. She was the daughter of the late Alvin and Josie Rogers. She died Sunday, September 2, 2012, in Columbia, Adair County, KY, at the age of 95 years, 2 months, and 14 days.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Garnett Coffey.

She was a member of the Church of Christ and a homemaker.

Survivors include:
  • One son and daughter in law: Larry and Joan Coffey of Louisville, KY

  • One daughter and son in law: Peggy and Terry Simpson of Shepherdsville, KY

  • One brother: Junior Rogers of Lebanon, KY

  • Two sisters: Frances Finn of Columbia, KY, and Magalyn Mullins of Louisville, KY

  • Four grandchildren

  • Thirteen great grandchildren
