Ruby Cole Jessie, Adair County native (d. August 30, 2012)

She was a native of Adair County, KY, and a member of a highly regarded Glasgow, KY family. She was the mother in law of Columbia's John R. Pendleton, and the matriarch of a large, highly regarded Barren County, KY, family. Mrs. Jessie was a homemaker and was the first president of the Barren County Republican Women's Club. She was a member of the Faith United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday school for over 25 years.

Ruby Cole Jessie 89 of Glasgow died Thursday, August 30, 2012 at T. J. Samson Community Hospital.

Funeral services will be 1:30pmCT, Sunday, September 2, 2012 at the A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home, 201 E. Washington Street, Glasgow, KY, with burial in the Happy Valley Memorial Gardens, 1504 Happy Valley Rd, Glasgow, KY Visitation will begin at 4:30pmCT, Saturday, September 2, 2012, at the funeral home.



Ruby Cole Jessie, Adair County native, Glasgow, KY (1923-2012)

She was born January 23, 1923 in Adair County, KY. She was the daughter of the late Willie D. and Myrtie Sparks Cole. She died Thursday, August 30, 2012 2012, in Glasgow, Barren County, KY, at the age of 89 years, 7 months, and 7 days.

She was also preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Lawrence Gilbert Jessie.

Mrs. Jessie was a homemaker and was the first president of the Barren County Republican Women's Club. She was a member of the Faith United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday school for over 25 years.

Survivors include the following:
  • Her daughter: Barbara Jane Pendleton and husband John of Glasgow, Ky

  • A brother: Tom Cole and wife Anna of Bowling Green, KY

  • And several nieces and nephews including special nieces and nephews, Glenn Cole, Marsha Cole Wardlaw, Tony Cole and Becky Garnick

  • Several great nieces and nephews
