Betty (Boo) Overstreet, Casey Co., KY (1934-2012)

She was the matriarch of a highly regarded Casey County, KY, family. Her marriage to Russell H. Overstreet, who survives, endured a remarkable 56 years. She leaves 10 direct living descendants.She was a homemaker and worked as a cook for the school system. Mrs. Overstreet was a member of the Liberty First Baptist Church

Betty "Boo" Overstreet passed away Thursday August 23, 2012 at the UK Medical Center in Lexington, KY. She was 78.

Funeral services are 11amET/10amCT, Saturday August 25, 2012 at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home, 752 Campbellsville Street, Liberty, KY, with Bro. Jimmy Brown officiating. Burial will be in Salem Cemetery. Visitation is 6pm-9pmET/5pm-8pmCT, Friday, August 24, 2012, at the funeral home.

She was born June 21, 1934 in Casey County, KY. She was the daughter of the late Clement V. and Nora Lizabeth Carman. She died Thursday, August 23, 2012, in Lexington, Fayette County, KY, at the age of 78 years, 2 months, and 2 days.

She was a homemaker and worked as a cook for the school system. Mrs. Overstreet was a member of the Liberty First Baptist Church.

Survivors include her beloved husband of 56 years, Russell H. Overstreet of Liberty, KY and the following:
  • A daughter: Patricia (Mark) Davis of Fillmore, Indiana

  • Three grandchildren: Bridget (Joey) Cox, Amie Skiles and Erica Skiles

  • Six great-grandchildren: Dylan, Mallory, Karli Joe, Kiera, Mackenzie and Addyson

  • Brother: J.C. Carman of Liberty, KY

  • Three sisters: Lettie Sue Pittman of Liberty, KY; Judy Carol (Butch) Fancher of Indianapolis, IN; and Jody ( Ronnie) Salyers of Waynesburg, KY

  • And close family friend: Kyle Weddle of Liberty, KY
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a son, Russell Dale Overstreet.
