Billy Joe Fudge writes: Save Our Hospital

. . . if "We the people" are going to be stuck with the debts of the hospital, whether it is open or closed, then you'd better believe that We the people" should own the hospital. - BILLY JOE FUDGE

By Billy Joe Fudge

Now we are down to one option if we want to save our hospital."We the people" in the form of the Adair County fiscal court must assume control and ownership of the hospital.

Reorganize the debt, seek a reduction of that debt from our creditors and propose a tax that will retire that debt according to the reorganization.

Appoint a new board with no conflict of interest that reports to fiscal court each quarter.

Take applications to hire an honest and adept administrator with no conflict of interest.

I'm a private sector guy as I am sure most Adair Countians are but if "We the people" are going to be stuck with the debts of the hospital, whether it is open or closed, then you'd better believe that We the people" should own the hospital.I am sure that most of the members of our fiscal court are private sector folk with conservative ideologies just like me and most of the folks in our county and area. However it is time for our court to respond to the grass roots call to save our hospital.I call upon our fiscal court to save our hospital for all the right reasons and rescue us from having to repay these debts for a hospital which in all likelihood will no longer exist given the present insanity.I call upon all the folks of Adair County to contact your respective magistrates and Judge Melton with your appeal concerning the future of our hospital. -BILLY JOE FUDGE
