Supt. Reed explains why at first, at least, it will be an Army ROTC Superintendent Alan W. Reed responds to George Kolbenschlag comments Thank you, George, for recognizing that a well-run ROTC program, with its color guard, would bring instant pride to our students, eighth-grade through high school, and to our school district and community. As for Navy v. Army, the choice was apparent when I discovered that we already have an "Army Club" at ACHS with roughly a hundred members! I believe an ROTC program would help lower a drop-out rate that is currently unacceptable, and could decrease discipline issues significantly. Great hear your comments George. Surely Joe Hare has something he'd like to add to this topic of discussion! --Alan W.
