Virginia Kay Chiles, 84, Columbia, KY passed away Wednesday August 1, 2012 at 6:10amCT, at her home.

Funeral services are Friday, August 3, 2012 at 10:30amCT, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY, with Bro. Casey Baker, the clergy officiating. Interment in the Lebanon National Cemetery, 20 Hwy 208, Lebanon, KY. Visitation will be after 4:30pmCT, Thursday, August 2, 2012, at the funeral home.


Virginia Kay Chiles, Adair County, KY (1928-2012)

Virginia Kay Chiles was born on March 2, 1928 in Niles, Michigan. She was the daughter of the late Lawrence Everett and Sara Opelia Nevill Jones. She died Wednesday, August 1, 2012 in Columbia, Adair County, KY, at the age of 84 years, 4 months, and 30 days.

She was the widow of James Lewis Chiles who preceded her in death June 2000and was also preceded in death by a son William Lawrence, Jr. in 2005.

She is survived by the following:
  • Two sons: Ray Fluhr and wife Patti of Columbia, KY; Frank Fluhr of Louisville, KY

  • Three daughters: Virginia Rose Fluhr of Nashville, TN; Kathleen Lair of Louisville, KY; Judith Elaine Hilson of Columbia, KY

  • One brother: Franklin Jones of Murfreesboro, TN

  • Two sisters: Lorene Stephens of Linden, TN; Catherine Simmons of Linden, TN

  • Eleven grandchildren

  • Ten great grandchildren

  • Special friend: Kathy Rogers

  • Several nieces, nephews and host of other relatives and friends
She was a nurses assistant.
