Letter: Breastfeeding can reduce diabetes By Janet Novielli This is only somewhat related but it concerns me that with such high rates of diabetes in this area there is not more emphasis on mothers breastfeeding their babies which can decrease the incidence of Type one diabetes in the child....and recently on a medical segment on Sundays it was stated that IF a mother nurses her baby for 1-2 months it can reduce the mother's risk of diabetes by 50%. Seems to me this would be a wise idea for both mother and child! - Janet NovielliComments re article 53326 LWC Assistant Dean of Students relates struggle with Diabetes This story was posted on 2012-07-26 11:52:54
