Kids Need Kicks: Just $30 buys a pair of shoes

Mindy Smith of Kids Need Kicks said this morning that the biggest need at this point is for money donations. "The committee shops for each kid for whom a request has been made," she said. "And they are usually able to find a really good pair of quality shoes for $30." A $30 gift, in other words, means another kid will have a pair of shoes they can be proud to wear on opening day of school."

For those who can give more than $30, that gift would be a great help. Any amount is appreciated.

For those who would like to give enough to buy 10 pairs of socks - also badly needed, a gift of $10 will do that. "We give a new pair of socks to every child to keep before they try on the new shoes," Mindy Smith said. "New Socks also put put smiles on kids faces," she said.

It's that time of year again! We are accepting new pairs of shoes or monetary donations to support the Kids Need Kicks program. KNK is a ministry providing qualifying Adair County students a new pair of athletic shoes as they begin this school year. If you would like to purchase a new pair of shoes, please drop those off by Friday, July 27, 2012, at the Columbia Christian Church, 206 Campbellsville ST, Columbia, KY If you wish to make a monetary donation, please make checks payable to "Family Resource Center" and mail to PO Box 242, Columbia, KY 42728. LWC Football Kicks in for shoes for Adair Co. Kids

Kids Need Kicks nears deadline with lot of momentum

A surge of gifts before the deadline, Monday, July 30, 2012, has been really encouraging, the Kids Need Kicks founder says.
