Iva Marie Franklin Conner, Greensburg, KY (1934-2012)

She was the matriarch of a large, respected Green County, KY, family. She leaves 49 direct living descendants. Her marriage to Willie Carson "W.C." Conner endured a remarkable 62 years. She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Liberty Missionary Baptist Church. She was a Certified Nursing Assistant for the Golden Living Center-Green Hill

Mrs. Iva Marie Franklin Conner, 77, of Greensburg, KY departed this life on Monday, July 23, 2012 at the Taylor Regional Hospital in Campbellsville, KY.

The funeral services for Mrs. Iva Marie Franklin Conner will be conducted at 1pmCT, Thursday, July 26, 2012 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, 206 S. Main Street, Greensburg, KY, with burial to follow in the Fry Cemetery. Bro. Darrell Hensley will be officiating. Visitation is requested after 10amCT, Thursday until time of the funeral service.



Iva Marie Franklin Conner, Greensburg, KY (1934-2012)

Mrs. Iva Marie Franklin Conner of Greensburg, KY, daughter of the late Charles Franklin and Cora Malone Franklin, was born on October 20, 1934 in Clinton Co., KY, and departed this life on Monday, July 23, 2012 in Campbellsville, Taylor County, KY. She was 77 years, 9 months and 3 days of age.

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Liberty Missionary Baptist Church. She was a Certified Nursing Assistant for the Golden Living Center-Green Hill.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Willie Carson "W.C." Conner of Greensburg, whom she married on June 23, 1950.

Other survivors include:
  • Her children and spouses: Donnie and Tonya Conner of Louisville, KY; Terry and Maureen Conner of Pennsylvania; David and Brenda Conner of Louisville, KY; Chuck and Jackie Conner, Sue and Sammy Cox, and Debbie and Maxie Matney all of Greensburg, KY; and Linda and Ricky Smith of Allendale, KY

  • A brother: Robert "Bob" Franklin of Louisville, KY

  • Twenty grandchildren

  • Nineteen great grandchildren

  • Three great great grandchildren

  • A best friend: Coleen Lenker

  • And special nieces, nephews, cousins

  • Other relatives and friends, who helped her during her remaining days here
She was also preceded in death by a sister and three brothers.

The family has asked that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the family burial fund, which can be made at the funeral home.
