Today at the Fair: Midway opens, Pageants, Demolition Derby

The Adair County Fair, 413 Fairground Street, Columbia, KY, opens tonight at 6pmCT with several big events tonight, Monday, July 9, 2012 and the first night with all the rides.

Myers International Midways, the family-oriented rides and entertainment amusement company from Gibsonton, Florida is set up on the midway. The fair is a P.O.P (Pay One Price-Ride All Rides) show, with a $10 per person admission to the fair covering all rides as well.

This evening, three pageants will be held in the New Pavillion.
  • The Baby Contest for 0-1 year olds, starts at 6pmCT. Randy Hadley, 270-634-3626, is in charge of this event, with 6 classes - 3 age groups. plus photogenic contest. The contest is sponsored by Flowers n Things.

  • The Little Mister and Miss Pageant will start at 7:15pmCT. Susan Lewis Perkinson, 270-634-0365, is in charge of this event. It is also sponsored by Flowers n Things.

  • The Miss Pre-Teen Pageant will start at 8pmCT. Susan Lewis Perkinson, , 270-634-0365, is in charge of this event. It is also sponsored by Flowers n Things.
At 8pmCT, the Small Car Demolition Derby begins on the Main Track. Thomas Long, 270-634-3172, is in charge of this event.

Details for the events are all in the big 2012 Adair County Fair catalog (Photo), available at several places around the county. By now, many country stores have at least one house copy for fair goers to peruse at the store at coffee.
