Flags needing attention - (Mayor Harris has plan TBA)

Walter R Murley writes:
Ed, Have you noticed the flags on the utility poles lately? Several are torn and wrapped on the poles. I would hope they get some attention soon. Thanks. - Walter R Murley
Walter R. Murley: Thanks. The situation has not escaped the attention of Mayor Mark D. Harris. He is expected to make an announcement within the next day or so about an invitation for citizen participation in maintaining the flags. The flags are expensive, but with more public involvement and support, they can be both an attraction to the town and and still be displayed, always, according to the highest standards. The idea of citizen sponsorship for the flags, Mayor Harris said, came from public spirited citizens - he'll need to release the names, should they be made public. We expect an announcement soon. - EW
