He was the patriarch of a large, respected South Adair County, KY family. He had worked at M and W Milling in Columbia for several years, was an avid coon hunter and loved all his grand kids. He will be interred in Adair County, where he began his life and spent his final earthly life.

Johnny Lee Grant age 63 years of Glensfork, KY passed away Thursday, June 7, 2012 at 6:52pmCT, at Westlake Regional Hospital Emergency Room, in Columbia, KY

Funeral services will be at 1pmCT, Monday, June 11, 2012 at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY, with Bro. Roger Garner the officiating clergy. Interment in Grant Morrison Cemetery, 2595 Hwy 900 Road, Columbia, KY, in the Glensfork Community of Adair County. Visitation after 4pmCT, Sunday, June 10, 2012.

He was born in Adair County, KY, on April 18, 1949. He was the son of the late Arlis and Lina Jane Morgan Grant. He died Thursday, June 7, 2012, in Columbia, Adair County, KY at the age of 63 years, 1 months, and 19 days.

He is survived by his wife: Pam Whittle Grant of Glensfork, KY and the following:
  • One son: Lacy Grant and wife Jill of Columbia, KY

  • One daughter: Amanda Grant Abbott and husband Delbert of Columbia, KY

  • Three sisters: Bernice Mitchum and husband Bobby of Glensfork, KY, Virginia Watson of Glensfork, KY and Freda Campbell and husband Jerry of Jamestown, KY

  • One brother: Daryl Grant of Columbia, K

  • Seven grandchildren: Mahaylie Abbott, Aliziah Abbott, Madison Grant, Jonathan Grant, Garrett Grant, Kenzie Rogers and Jalen Rogers

  • His mother-in-law Orean Whittle of Russell Springs, KY

  • Brother-in-law: Kenny Whittle and wife Gina

  • Coon hunting friend: Ross Curry

  • Several nieces, nephews, a host of other relatives and friends
Preceded in death by two brothers, Billy Joe Grant & Arlis Grant, Jr.; one sister Mary Grant and his father-in-law Odell Whittle.

He had worked at M and W Milling in Columbia for several years, was an avid coon hunter and loved all his grand kids.
